Slime and Playdough recipes

Goodness! I swore these recipes were already on the blog but it's been brought to my attention (several times) that they're not! Whoops! My guess is that they didn't make the transfer when we switched to our new website, but that's ok. Let's fix that!

Flourish Playdough Recipe:

Our playdough is a hot favorite! The softest, squishiest, squeeziest! We're super proud of what we've created, but we also think that this is something everyone should have access to... so without further delay, say hello to our Flourish Playdough recipe!

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup of flour
⅓ cup salt
1 tablespoon of oil
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
1 cup of boiling water
food coloring and/or essential oils

DIRECTIONS:
1. Bring water to a boil, remove from heat and stir in flour, salt, oil, and cream of tartar.
2. Stir together until the dough begins to form. Once it's cool, knead the dough with your hands until it is smooth and soft.
3. Add any colors or scents you would like! We often use food coloring and liquid watercolors, but honestly, sky is the limit!

Flourish Slime Recipe:

Slime is not most parents favorite thing, ourselves included. But kids LOVE it and its a great sensory tool and darn it, it's fun! If we were going to do slime, we needed to make sure we did it well, and not to toot our own horns, but TOOT TOOT! This is fantastic slime!

INGREDIENTS:
¼ cup of Elmers Glue
¼ cup of water

Max 6 drops of food color

Any glitter, sequence, or other additives

¼ cup of StaFlo

DIRECTIONS:
1. Stir glue and water for several minutes, until the two are mixed completely.
2. Add the color, glitter, or other desired additives.
3. Stir in the StaFlo activator. Stir for 3-5 minutes and once the slime begins to firm up, start whisking the slime quickly.
4. If you can touch the slime and it doesn't stick to your finger, you can begin playing and kneading the slime.
5. We encourage stretching, dropping, dripping, blowing, popping and even cutting slime with scissors! Slime can become runny in hot temperatures so keep cool or at room temp. A pinch more activator will be sure to firm up any runny slime.

There you have it, friends! Be sure to let us know how these recipes work for you. If all else fails, you can always find our slime and playdough on our shelves, made and ready!
